Argued Sentencing-Felony Substantial Battery-Time Served 3 days

Homeless woman charged with felony substantial battery for throwing an ashtray at another woman and allegedly resulting in stitches.  Woman pled guilty to misd. battery.  D.A. insisted on jail as punishment.  Attorney Griessmeyer was confident that based upon the woman's actions after her arrest and her life circumstances that jail was unnecessary.  At the argued sentencing hearing the D.A. asked for three months jail while Attorney Griessmeyer asked for no jail/ time served (3 days).  The Judge ordered no jail/ time served.  The judge also waived any court costs for the matter before Attorney Griessmeyer even asked for a waiver of costs.
